At Guides.co we believe we can help people change themselves, their communities, and the world through interactive guides that inspire, educate, and provide the blueprints to take action.
While still a relatively new startup, Guides.co has worked with hundreds of inspirational people and dozens of great organizations to help them make an impact through over 75,000 lifelong learners in over 6,000 cities around the world.
We're removing the barrier to accessing and sharing actionable knowledge all over the world.
At Guides.co our objective is simple but ambitious: to inspire, educate, and provide direction for people to change the world. We've invested two years and over a million dollars creating software that will allow anyone to create multimedia learning content that is interactive, engages learners, and is updated in real-time.
What if the your "teacher" was more of a guide and your fellow "students", the "classroom" was 24/7 in your pocket, and the test was real life?
As our digital world becomes increasingly ubiquitous, younger generations no longer ask their parents or friends how to "do" or fix something - they ask their phone. And while traditional education is still critical in developing skill-based, foundational knowledge, these younger generations rely on their phones and the internet to "lookup" and store knowledge and facts.
That's what we asked ourselves when we conceived guides.co. While our founders all have international graduate-level degrees, we wanted to create a lifelong learning environment that was on-demand, up to date, and accessible to anyone to access practical knowledge.
With over 1,300 guides published and 75,000 lifelong learners in over 6,000 cities, we're just getting started making knowledge equally accessible to creators and learners all over the world.
Our knowledge creators include teachers and professors, business leaders and mentors, nutritionalists, chefs, philosophers, students, non-profit organizations and major corporations.
And unlike many courses that are only accessed once and then discarded, guides.co learners access guides dozens of times, spend an average of 1.2 hours per guide and access it on multiple devices.
While we believe that sharing knowledge and actionable processes are not restricted to academics, we do still have several professors and academics who use guides including:
- Steve Blank (Stanford University, U.C. Berkeley, Columbia University)
- Mike Moyer (Northwestern University and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business)
- Stephen Ritz (NYC school board administrator and recipient of the 2014 Greenius Award, 2014 Green Difference Award, 2013 Latin Trends Award, ABC Above and Beyond Award, Chevrolet / General Motors National Green Educator Award, USS Intrepid Hometown Hero Award, NYC Chancellor’s Award)
As a young startup, we are just starting in our mission. Through Stephen Ritz and the Green Bronx Machine we will be begin working with the New York school board and hope to replicate this success with school boards and universities all over the world. We will also continue to help businesses inspire and educate their staff, and provide a free platform for anyone in the world to share and access actionable knowledge for personal and professional growth and to make an impact in their communities and around the world.
